Ten Plus Attributes of a Total Musician

Are you happy with your progress as a piano student or as a musician? Your progress depends on a few important things. Most of all it depends how you practise. Practising correctly makes all the difference. And one reason you need a teacher is to help put you on the right path. There is no one path that fits all. But if you know the elements that go into good practising you can develop good practice habits. If you find yourself stuck on the same piece of music and no signs of progress you need to start what I call “creative practicing”?

There are certain things you need to study before getting creative. I place a high priority on knowing the elements that contribute to being a total musician. Most students are exposed to traditional lessons that are predictable and sometimes seem designed to keep students from progressing.

I have broken down total musicianship into ten identifiable categories and a full description will be available to subscribers.

If you want an improved practice routine you need to learn how to maximize your understanding of these categories and if you want to enjoy practising and have fun doing it you will engage with the elements described in each category in a creative way. After all, what could be more fun than making progress in the songs you’re learning.

My course called Guide to Total Musicianship will be a much needed introduction to beginners and reminder to those more experienced musicians who recognize that growing as a musician is without a doubt the best way to improve your chances of getting work or being accepted as a musician whether it’s as a soloist, accompanist or band member.

Sign up for free and you’ll get access to weekly tips I’ll send you a handy chart of the circle of fifths that is a comprehensive easy to understand map of the major and minor keys and the order of the sharps and flats.
